TO TELL FORTUNE BY HELUO EIGHT WORDS OF BIRTHDAY

First, we must understand two principles. The one is why we can tell fortune through a man’s birthday; the other is what attitude we should adopt dealing with fortune telling. Why was a person born just at a certain time? When the baby was in the womb of his mother, he was in a state of restlessness, which was related to the information resonance with his disposition represented by Tian Gan and Di Zhi , so we can predict his disposition as well as his temperament through the Tian Gan and Di Zhi of his birthday. On the other hand, we can predict his future encounter by the status if his birthday was fit with the season. This is the basis of “eight words” prediction, handed down by Shao Yong in Song dynasty. Modern methods of telling fortune are incredible for they are far from the original principles. Though the fortune could be told, “thirty percent of personality and seventy percent of heaven”, we still have way to avoid ill luck and meet good luck. The attitude we should adopt facing destiny is “a gentleman should know his life with a positive attitude”, just so so.
If you want to know the whole life of you, input the information of your birthday in the page, you will get the evaluation of you “eight words”. The accurate time input is very important, which could be determined by common time as well as time difference in different areas. As long as if only the “eight words” was accurate, the evaluation might be accurate, not relating to eastern or western area. Though there’s no difference of the temperament between Na Jia and not Na Jia, but the fortune may have great difference. Na Jia is like getting gift from the heaven. Na Jia means to look up if there is the same Gan and Zhi in the “eight words”. The software still has shortcomings, so the evaluation is just for reference.

The following are some examples:
Chairman Mao
Born in sunrise of 26 Dec. 1893, the hour was Mao (the fourth of ten Tian Gan). Many people think the time of sunrise after the Winter Solstice is past seven a.m., so the hour should be Shen (the fifth of ten Tian Gan); this is incorrect. We can look up in the Ri Shuo ten thousand year calendar http://www.time.ac.cn/calendar/calendar.htm, showing the eight words are Kui Si (year), Jia Zi (month), Ding You (day) and Kui Mao (hour). Input the date in He Luo eight words software, we can get the  second Yin line of Hexagram Yu (protal) and the fifth Yang line of Hexagram Tun (postnatal).
The explanation of Yu is : Enthusiasm. It furthers one to install helpers and to set armies marching. Kui Si and Kui Mao are Na Jia. The protal hexagram got the help of Original Qi; the postnatal hexagram got the help of Hua Gong. Original Qi represents wealth and dignity; Hua Gong represents reputation.
The second Yin line of Yu is: Firm as a rock. Not a whole day. Perseverance brings good fortune. The Image said: “not a whole day but can bring good luck”, for it’s a image of rightness and middlebrow. Confucious explained the meaning of this line was “know the correct time”. Shao Yong recommended this eight words:
The line is the image of rightness and knowing the correct time, so it is a good sign. For the Na Jia man, he would work industriously, deal with things with honesty, know things agilely; he would have high reputation. Neither riches nor honors can lead him astray; neither straitened and humble circumstances can lead him change; neither bully nor force can lead him give up. He is so upright and martyrdom, so he can be the pole of royal court.
This is the former semilife of Chairman Mao. The protal hexagram takes charge of the former semilife and is the basis of the successive semilife. The postnatal hexagram just functions at the successive semilife, being the changes of protal hexagram. The explanation of the line in protal hexagram is the most important evaluation.
The explanation of the fifth Yang line in the postnatal Hexagram Tun is : Difficulties in blessing.A little perseverance brings good fortune.Great perseverance brings misfortune. Not Na Jia. Shao Yong said: this line meant that one person’s career could not enlarge much more for his good virtue could not be inherited by others. Not Na Jia meant he will encounter calamity for his carving for greatness and success.

Li Jiacheng
Born in hour Kai, 29 July 1928. The eight words of his birthday are : Wu Shen , Ji Wei, Geng Wu and Ding Kai. So the protal hexagram is the fourth Yang line of Hexagram Xiao Guo; the postnatal hexagram is the first Yin line of Hexagram Bo.
The explanation of the fourth Yang line of Hexagram Xiao Guo is: No blame. He meets him without passing by.Going brings danger. One must be on guard.Do not act. Be constantly persevering. Geng Wu is Na Jia. Shao Yong evaluated:
This line means very modest without any arrogant harm. So Najia could make a person be modest though he is at a high position, be retiring though he has great contribution. He does neither threaten his padishah nor insult his people, so he will has very high and deep fortune by his changes with the time.
The explanation of the first line of the postnatal hexagram Po (splitting apart): The leg of the bed is split. Those who persevere are destroyed. Misfortune. Xiang Said: The splitting of the bed suggests the base was destroyed. It doesn’t Najia. The comment of Shao Yong: This line is a Xiang of base man harming righthearted man, which could be prevented by augury. Not Najia means many causes, such as harmed by base man or imprudence of oneself could induce the disaster.

Mark Twain
Born in 11 30 1835 4:45 ST +6:07 91:51W 39:33N. ST is time zone, what below the time zone are longitude and latitude. The time of year, month and day could be changed into lunar calendar directly, but there is something trouble of the conversion of hour. The method is using local time and changing it into corresponding Twelve Time (Tian Gan and Di Zhi). For example, if you are in Berlin, you can use local time and change it into Twelve Time directly, otherwise you have to calculate the time difference between Berlin and other place where you are.
The eight words of Mark Twain are Yi Wei (year), Ding Kai (month), Bing Yin (day) and Geng Yin (hour). The protal hexagram is six in the fourth place of Kun; the postnatal hexagram is nine at the beginning of Fu.
If Kun was born in lunar calendar Oct. or with Najia fate, the person would certainly be a minister with good reputation and high virtue. Kun is the sign of virtue and culture. Yi Wei was Najia as a protal hexagram and also getting the assistance of time of heaven and earth, so its master would of course have riches and honour.
The explanation of six in the fourth place of the protal hexagram Kun is: A tied-up sack. No blame, no praise. Xiang said: one should speak and act cautiously like tying up his sack, so that he could not incur disaster. The comment of Shao Yong: The line means one has to protect himself because of the incorrect time. Though Najia could bring the person good food and salary, his idea could not be adopted and he would not take a greater task at last. It is just a small compensation. It’s thus obvious that he could just use his pen making some facetious and ironical words to warn the common people.
The explanation of the first line of postnatal hexagram Fu: Return from a short distance. No need for remorse. Great good fortune. Xiang Said: It’s a method of correcting one’s mistake that he turns back when he walks a short distance. Geng Yin is Najia. The comment of Shao Yong: the line means one could enter a way by purifying his heart at first. Najia means that he has big and hard talent, with acting according to natural principle, knowing mechanism of things and waiting for correct time, he would be a good founder with great riches and honour. This is the portraiture that he wrote papers to prop up morality and justice.

Bill Gates
Born in 1955.10.28 22:00(+8:00) 122:20W 47:36N. The eight words are Yi Wei (year), Bing Xu (month), Ren Xu (day) and Xing Kai (hour). The protal hexagram is nine at the top of Chien; the postnatal hexagram is six in the third place of Lv.
The explanation of nine at the top of Chien is : Arrogant dragon will have cause to repent. Ren Xu is Najia. The comment of Shao Yong: This line means too splendid status might induce danger. Najia suggests rich but without an official position, high reputation but without following people, given knowing modesty, he could sustain riches and honour for a long time. The protal hexagram can take charge in till 54 years. The postnatal hexagram is six in the third place of Lv: A one-eyed man is able to see, A lame man is able to tread. He treads on the tail of the tiger. The tiger bites the man. Misfortune. Thus does a warrior act on behalf of his great prince. Ren Xu is Najia and getting the body at the correct time of autumn. The comment of Shao Yong: the line means a person would incur disaster while he was losing his treading road. The Najia means he would make development and reputation by himself without considering others that his strategies would hardly be performed and the rigidity of his temperament might induce disaster.
The heaven number is 16 while earth number 56, showing deficiency of Yang and excess of Yin. The original Qi of heaven and earth is in opposition would normally induce disaster. Given he was exempted from that, it must be due to the on time Najia and benevolent behavior planting the fortune.

Jack Welch
Born in 1935.11.19 10:30(+5:00) 70:55W 42:31N. The eight words are Yi Kai (year), Ding Kai (month), Ji Kai (day) and Ji Shi (hour). The protal hexagram is six in the fifth place of Shi; the postnatal hexagram is nine in the second place of Kan.
The meaning of Shi has different levels. The high level includes master, teacher of general; the low level includes military counselor, Buddhist monk, rabbi, etc. Yi Kai was Najia with the original Qi of heaven, suggesting the person should certainly be Shi . The explanation of six in the fifth place of Shi is: there is game in the field. It furthers one to catch it. Without blame. Let the eldest lead the army. The younger transports corpses; Then perseverance brings misfortune. Xiang said: when launch an army, to select a correct master of the military is very important. A good master will bring success whereas a bad master will bring failure. The comment of Shao Yong: the line means the way of using general of an army rightly. Najia means the person should make great contribution to his army and set up a great reputation by calming down convulsion or ruin of the society.
The explanation of nine in the second place of postnatal hexagram Kan is: The abyss is dangerous. One should strive to attain small things only. Xiang said: wanting to find solution through small things shows not a real solution. This is not Najia. The explanation of Shao Yong: the line means that a man tries to find coming through way when he is in danger. Not Najia means he can just get a small solution but not big one.

Karl Marx
Born in 5 5 1818 2:00 ST -0:26 6:38E 49:45N. The eight words are Wu Ying (year), Bing Chen (month), Wu Chen (day) and Kui Chou (hour). The protanal hexagram is nine in the third place of Qian, with Najia in both Bing Chen and Kui Chou; the postnatal hexagram is six at the top of Kun, with Najia in Kui Chou as well as getting the original Qi from earth.
The explanation of nine in the third place of protanal hexagram Qian is: A superior man of modesty and merit. Carries things to conclusion. Good fortune. Xiang said: an industrious and modest person would be respected by all people. The comment of Shao Yong: the line means that a person does not want to get reputation but everyone will remember his great contribution. Najia means his works would be better than normal, his virtue would be much more excellent than others, showing that he would take great task and make great contribution. The style of humility and attendance will bring good reputation after his death.
The explanation of six at the top of postnatal hexagram Kun: Dragons fight in the meadow. Their blood is black and yellow. Xiang said: dragons fighting in the meadow mean that the situation is at dead end. The comment of Shao Yong: this was induced by the excess of Yin. Najia means the person should rely on his contribution while he is a general of an army, or be arrogant when he is at a high position, or domineer on others when he is in danger. It is thus clear that he had to choice the dead end of fighting with his enemy “in the meadow”.Though he might have the opportunity of rising in the world, he could not flee from the disaster of worrying about the world.

Albert Einstein
Born in 3 14 1879 11:30 ST -0:40 10:00E 48:24N. The eight words are Ji Mao (year), Ding Mao (month), Bing Sheng (day) and Kui Shi (hour). We have to make a choice because of the hour being on a boundary. For the consideration that the hour was actually Germany time 20 minutes, adding the error of conversion of time, delaying of birth and roughness of time counting, the accurate TIME is Shi but not Wu . The prenatal hexagram is six in the fifth place of Fu; postnatal hexagram is nine in the second place of Jie. The prenatal gets the original Qi of earth; postnatal gets mechanism of changes.
The explanation of six in the fifth place of prenatal hexagram Fu: Noblehearted return. No remorse. Xiang said: returning by noble heart, showing the person observing himself by a virtuous way. The comment of Shao Yong: the lines means the person would get the body of Tao if he returned to virtue. Najia shows that he will sustain his virtuous middle dead and temperaments. Dun (virtuous) is the high virtue of a noble man; Zhong(middle) is the reputation of officers. He was born in February, the time near to Najia. Adding the original Qi containing riches and reputation, we can see his honesty of pursuing Tao. His principle is having a clear conscience.
The explanation of nine in the second place of postnatal hexagram Jie is: One kills three foxes in the field. And receives a yellow arrow. Perseverance brings good fortune. Xiang said: it is fortunate that nine in the second place sustains its righteous way. The comment of Shao Yong: the line gets the virtue of clearing evil. Najia shows the person might be a renowned patriarch of his country by his good virtue and high reputation. He was born in February around Najia, adding the reputation of mechanism of changes, suggesting he would get great reputation but could not be received by evil men.

Adolf Hitler
Born in 1889.4.20 18:30(-0:52) 13:02E 48:15N. There were some problems of the birth time. It might be a method preventing that astrologist wanted to get the secret of his birthday. The time is two hours earlier than the correct time, which in eight words should be Ji Chou (year), Wu Chen (month), Bing Yin (day) and Bin Sheng (hour). The prenatal hexagram is six in the fifth place of Sheen; the postnatal hexagram is nine in the second place of Da Guo. The prenatal gets the original Qi of earth with Najia of Bing Yin. The postnatal gets opposite mechanism of changes.
The explanation of six in the fifth place of the prenatal hexagram Sheen is: Someone does indeed increase him. Ten pairs of tortoises cannot oppose it. Supreme good fortune. Xiang said: the great fortune was awarded by god. The comment of Shao Yong: person who gets this line would have a highest position based on his good virtue as well as the assistance by his aides and staff. Najia means he would be the master of common people by the assistance of talented men and he would enjoy the highest riches and reputation. The hexagram took in charge till 45 years. We can understand that he got the great position by his restriction of his personal desire and his propagation for racialism and religion.
The explanation of nine in the second place of postnatal hexagram Da Guo: a dry poplar sprouts at the root. An older man takes a young wife. Everything furthers. Xiang said: an old man got married with a young woman. Though he has too strong Yang, he still matches the woman well. The comment of Shao Yong: the line shows that Yang gets assistance from Yin. Not Najia means getting easy from difficulty, getting life from death, a hard condition in early ages but splendid in late ages. From the view of fate it was not so bad, but the temperament and fate was give to a country, making a big disaster. He really got the assistance of Aiwa and sustained his activity by that. And he also got free from the bomb murder. Da Guo has the meanings of big wrong, subversion and failure by fussy advancement. It has the image that water submerges wood. The second line changes into Xian, having the meaning of unconscious feeling. The hysterical mental state is emerging. Wood had the image of hostility and extinction, so freedom was perished by Fascism. He was hostile to Jew for the people represented business men and libratory southeast tribe. Till 1943, the Flowing Year changed from nine in the second place to the third place of Da Guo, showing that his Big Restriction approached. The explanation of nine in the third place is: The ridgepole sags to the breaking point. Misfortune. Xiang said: the danger comes from no assistance for the ridgepole. This was the dominance of years after his fifty five. The image of the Flowing Year in 55 changed into six in the third place of Kun: A man permits himself to be oppressed by stone, and leans on thorns and thistles. He enters his house and does not see his wife. Misfortune. Xiang said: this is an unfortunate image. The image indicated the image that he would depart with his wife, in addition that Kun changing into nine at the top of Song, he would inevitably flee from the disaster. If a man has deficiency in his temperament, he should not be endowed with the purpose of a nation. Everyone must remember this principle.

Princess Diana
Born in 1961.7.1 19:45(-1:00) 0:30E 52:50N. The eight words are Xing Chou (year), Jia Wu (month), Yi Wei (day) and Bing Xu (hour). The prenatal hexagram is six in the fifth place of Kun, with Najia of Yi Wei; the postnatal hexagram is nine in the second place of Shi. The later would not be discussed here.
The explanation of six in the fifth place of the prenatal hexagram Kun is: A yellow lower garment brings supreme good fortune. Xiang said: we say it “fortunate” because of the decorations in it. The comment of Shao Yong: the line could get great fortune because of the virtue of submission and middlebrow. Najia means that the person will have a high position and ability of writing. “Huang” (yellow) has the sign of good name, imperial clan. “Yuan”, ‘Wen” and “Zhong” have many signs, but totally show that the person will have great contributions to the imperial clan. If the person is a female, she will be a very noble woman assigned by the emperor. Like nine in the fifth place of hexagram Chien representing emperor, six in the fifth place of hexagram Kun represents queen.
However, the earth number 52 is excess and getting no assistance from the original Qi and mechanism of changes, regardless the content of the explanation of the line, she should be very cautious about any circumstances, otherwise she could not get free from disaster. Shao Yong believed that a bloody disaster was inevitable for the excess of Yin in the hexagram Kun. The queen was divorced later, losing the position of virtue. When the situation was changed to the second line of Shi, the disaster was inevitable.

Napoleon Bonaparte
Born in 1769.8.15 11:00(-0:37) 8:48E 41:54N. The eight words are Ji Chou (year), Ren Sheng (month), Jia Wu (day) and Ji Shi (hour). The prenatal hexagram is six in the third place of Jie, without Najia; the postnatal hexagram is nine at the top of hexagram Yi, without Najia.
The explanation of six in the third place of the prenatal hexagram Jie is: If a man carries a burden on his back, and nonetheless rides in a carriage, he thereby encourages robbers to draw near. Perseverance leads to humiliation. Xiang said: it is ugly to ride big carriage with heavy things on one’s back. Who can take the fault if he incurs the thieves himself? The comment of Shao Yong: this line shows an inevitable disaster for the person take the position without correspondent virtue. Not Najia means the person will take the position with some base methods. From the comment we can know how incorrect it was that Napoleon launched wars to get the position. The situation at that time was six in the third place of hexagram Jie. The time is dog days. The hot temperature could be decreased by thunder and rain, so his prompt action could be accepted by his army and he could get out of dangers. Sin in the third place changed into hexagram Shi, having the image of leading the army and launching wars, so he had the ability of military.
The explanation of nine at the top of the postnatal hexagram Yi is: He brings increase to no one. Indeed, someone even strikes him. He does not keep his heart constantly steady. Misfortune. Xiang said: nobody helps him because he partially pursued interests; someone beat him because he incurred the strike himself. The comment of Shao Yong: he originally aimed at asking someone for help, but he ultimately got strike from others, indicating that he was hostile by many people. Not Najia showed that he was insidious so he could not protect his body completely. We can see the situation after his 42-year from the explanation.
The explanation is so clear, but why people suffer from the great changes that big riches and reputations at a time and totally lost at other time? The reason is that the eight words include original Qi and mechanism of changes. When the original Qi and mechanism of changes lost at last, the radical mechanism of changes would work on the contrary. Shao Yong said: if a common person cannot get the mechanism of changes, he would come up against many disasters for he usually wanted to disobey the arrangement by the fate.

George Washington
Born in 1732.2.22 10:00(+5:07) 76:59W 38:12N. The eight words are Ren Zi (year), Ren Yin (month), Yi You (day) and Xing Shi (hour). The prenatal hexagram is six in the fifth place of Qian, with Najia of Yi You; the postnatal hexagram is nine in the second place of Meng, without Najia, but with original earth Qi. It’s easy to predict his whole life.
The explanation of six in the fifth place is: No boasting of wealth before one's neighbor. It is favorable to attack with force. Nothing that would not further. Xiang said: a punitive expedition is available for the goal does not obey the right rules. The comment of Shao Yong: the line shows modest temperament of a king, so a man with Najia will have many heroes accompanying with him and establish great business. Everything is ok under his good virtue of modesty. The explanation has showed his modest nature and expedition career.
The explanation of nine in the second place of postnatal hexagram Meng is: To bear with fools in kindliness brings good fortune. To know how to take women brings good fortune. The son is capable of taking charge of the household. Xiang said: the son takes responsibility of a family, showing he has merged his rigidity with the softness of his wife. The comment of Shao Yong: the line shows the beauty of Shi. The person with Najia is certainly great noble man. He has big tolerance, accommodates people with modest attitude, takes care of his parents and strings along with his country. Not Najia can also build up a family and start a new career. Though not Najia, he got the original Qi of earth, so he had great riches and reputation and set up a model we need learn forever.

Note

Tian Gan and Di Zhi: in traditional Chinese calendar, the two was used to record date. Tian Gan includes ten components like Jia, Yi, Bin, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xing, Ren, Gui; Di Zhi includes twelve components like Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Sheng, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai. Tian Gan is like the trunk(in Chinese Gan) of a tree and Di Zhi is like the branches(in Chinese Zhi) of a tree. There are total 60 combination forms between ten Tian Gan and 12 Di Zhi, so 60 years could be called as a “Hua Jia”. The combination of Tian Gan and Di Zhi could be used to record not only year, but also month, day and hour, so a man’s birthday could be described by four groups of combinations of Tian Gan and Di Zhi, they are total eight words (for example, Jia Wu(year), Xin Wei(month), Kui Chou(day) and Gen Xin(hour)). In traditional Chinese culture, “eight words” was usually used to described a man’s life, for example, “the man had a good eight words”.

The great founder of P. R. China, who led the Chinese army defeated all kinds of enemies and found the new China.

The Winter Solstice: according to traditional Chinese calendar, a year can be divided into 24 solar terms. The Winter Solstice is at around the end of Dec.

Shi: in Chinese “Shi” has many different meanings, but the basic meaning is “teacher” (noun) and military (verb). An expert in any field could be called as “Shi”.

Here means Twelve Time (Gan and Zhi).

Flowing Year: in fortune telling, Flowing Year is usually used to describe one person’s fate year by year. “One has a bad Flowing Year” means the fortune is not good in this year. Because the fortune in each year is difference like flowing river, it is called “Flowing Year”.

Big Restriction: in Chinese usually used to describe the dangerous, even dead date of a person.
